Feasibility
Feasibility is the stage in which the business case both technically and financially is assembled. Feasibility is not so much a single study but the tasks required to confirm that the proposed technology solution continues to meet the requirements of all parties concerned - principally the planners and our client.
This stage of the project typically involves the bottoming out of potential showstoppers and the compiling of supporting information the planners and our clients will need to make an informed decision. The type of tasks, number of and sequence will vary between projects and technologies.
For example - our recommendations from a biomass heating pre-feasibility may identify the fuel supply as a key factor which requires further work, to ensure that sufficient biomass is available locally to power the plant.
Alternatively, a wind turbine pre-feasibility may point out that noise compliance may be critical to gaining planning permission and further acoustic work may be a priority. On another wind project, interference with telecommunication links may be the key issue to resolve.
The Feasibility Service includes:
• Site Survey(s) - size and location of technology.
• Planning Issues - environmental impact assessment and community consultation process.
• Electrical connection and access to the site.
• Detailed Business Case
• Refined Technology Options
• Grant Applications
• Fuel Supply Contracts
• Tax Incentives
• Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
